The artist is James Wedzin, from the Tłı̨chǫ community of Behchokǫ̀. James praises his grandmother for encouraging his early interest in traditional art and finds joy in seeing his son and wife learning to paint, as well as students in the workshops he teaches.
James is known for painting northern landscapes, animal imagery, and Northern Lights. Many of his paintings incorporate hidden animals into the landscapes, water and the skies.

We honor the Tłı̨chǫ citizens, who from time immemorial, have been living and working on this land.
